Andy

Andy is a diminutive of Andrea, or Andrew. Andrea originates in Greek language and means "daring". As an English name it is a feminine form of Andrew and it became popular at the beginning of the 20th century. In the Bible, Saint Andrew was Jesus's disciple and one of the twelve Apostles. Andrea is a popular name in many Slavic languages.
