Capriana originates in Italian language and its meaing is unclear. Most likely it was derived from the the name of the Italian island of Capri, some sources also suggest the meaning "whimsical, playful". This is also the name of a municipality in northern Italy. As a feminine given name Capriana is rather rare in the US.
