Currie

Currie is a modern version of an old Anglo-Scottish name. It is a locational name in the sense that it showed where the bearer came from. It is believed that the name originated in the Old Gaelic “curraigh” which meant “a wet plain” or “coire” which was their name for a hanging valley.
