Curt

Curt can be a variant of Kurt, itself a German form Conrad, or a short form of Curtis. Conrad comes from the old German words 'kuon' which means 'bold or wise', and 'rat' which means 'counsel'. There is an indication that the name was used widely in England even before it became popular in Germany.
