Diva originates in Latin language and means "goddess". It is taken from the word used as a term describing a celebrated singer, with great talents in opera singing, theater and even popular music. As a feminine given name it was popularized by Diva Zappa, Frank Zappa's youngest daughter. It is also the name of the 1992 album by Annie Lennox.
