Imelda

Imelda is a Spanish and Italian variant of Irmhild. Irmhild originates in Germanic languages and means "fighting the whole battle". As a feminine given name it is very unusual and considered old-fashioned in the United States. Blessed Imelda Lambertini was the 14th century patron saint of First Holy Communicants, a Catholic Church ceremony.
