Kir

Kir is a Russian form of Cyrus. Cyrus is a version of an Ancient Persian name. It is derived from the Persian “khuru” which means throne, or “khur” which means sun. Kurus, Kurush are the old forms of the name in Persian and Kyros is the Greek form of the name. In its Greek form it can also mean far sighted.
