Melissa

Melissa means "honey bee" in Greek. In Greek mythology, Melissa was a nymph. She discovered honey and taught people how to use it. Later on, bees received the name after her. Melissa was also used in Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, as the name of a good witch. It has been used as an English name since the 18th century.
