Myra

Myra originates in Latin language and means "scent of myrrh". It was most likely invented by Fulke Greville, 1st Baron Brooke, an English poet and dramatist, who based the name on myrrh, an aromatic resin of a tree. Some sources also suggest Myra is simply a diminutive of Mary. As a feminine given name, Myra is fairly popular in the United States.
