Feminine form of Olympos, which originates in Greek language and is derived from Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece. In Greek mythology, Olympus was the mountain of Twelve Olympian gods. Olympia is the name of the ancient Olympic Games site, as well as the capital city of Washington state.
