Roma originates in Italian language and is most likely taken from the name of the capital city of Italy, in English called Rome. Nevertheless, Roma is a given name in many languages. Some sources suggest that it is a feminine form of Roman. In Indian mythology, Roma is an equivalent of Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity.
