Romy

Romy is a diminutive of Rosemary. Rosemary originates in Latin language and means "sea dew". It is taken from the name of a fragrant evergreen herb, native to the Mediterranean region. The herb is associated with the Virgin Mary as well as the goddess Aphrodite. As a feminine given name it was popular in the first half of the 20th century. It is the name of the main character in a horror novel and a subsequent film Rosemary's Baby.
