Solvej

Solvej is a Danish variant of Solveig. Solveig originates in Old Norse and means "from the house of strength". As a feminine given name, it is most popular in Scandinavian countries and Iceland. It was the name of the main character in Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt. Ibsen probably used the name due to its possible origin associated with the sun.
