Vesta

Vesta originates in Latin language and means "born near a fireplace". In Roman religion, she was the virgin goddess of hearth, family and home. The goddess Hestia was her Greek equivalent. In her Temples, Vesta had her Vestal Virgins, priestesses who looked after the sacred fire in Rome and never let the fire go out.
