Walentyna is a Polish variant of Valentina. Valentina originates in Latin language and means "strong and sound". It is a feminine form of Valentinus. It is a popular feminine given name in Italian, Spanish and Russian and one of the most famous bearers was the Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space.
