Yisrael

Yisrael is the original Hebrew variant of Israel. Israel is derived from two Hebrew words - 'sarah', which means 'to struggle or to rule', and 'el', which means 'God or all powerful'. The Hebrew version of the name is 'Yisrael'. In the Bible, Jacob was renamed Israel by God after his struggle with God.
